4 US troops killed in Niger ambush

America is deeply involved in massive military campaigns in the Middle East. America’s wars in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq are the most high profile conflicts where the United States is spending heavily to advance and protect its interests and those of its allies. But there are many more battlefields around the world where the US is actively engaged in military operations. An example is the western African country of Niger. The African nation’s population is predominantly Muslim and represents another case of an Islamic country where the US is present militarily. The Pentagon’s activities in Niger are now under the spotlight following a deadly ambush against US commandos. The attack took place near Niger’s border with Mali on Wednesday while US soldiers were reportedly providing advice and assistance to local armed forces against militants.

US troops directing kill orders to Daesh

Russia keeps up pressure on terrorist groups in Syria. Two Russian submarines have fired a salvo of 10 cruise missiles from the Mediterranean Sea at the positions of Daesh terrorists in Syria's Deir al-Zor province. The Russian missile attack came after Moscow accused the US of supporting terrorists in Syria. While Syria is marching toward final victory in an all-out war whose goal was toppling the Syrian government, the accusation once again highlights Russia’s deep distrust of the US which has also deployed troops to Syria, but without the Syrian government’s consent.
